What to Send Before Sampling a Custom Bike Bag

Prepare a clear brief for your custom bike bag, cover or cushion. Use this checklist to share dimensions, mounting details, quantities and budget before sampling.

What to Send Before Sampling a Custom Bike Bag You do not need a finished technical drawing to start a custom bike accessory project. A sketch, reference product or clear set of photos can begin the discussion. What helps most is explaining what the product must do, where it will fit and the budget it needs to meet. Use the checklist below when contacting Yagoobag about a bike bag, cargo bike cover or passenger cushion. Your Project Brief: Nine Things to Include Information What to send
  1. Product concept A drawing, sketch or reference photo. Explain which features you want to keep or change.
  1. Key dimensions Overall length, width and height, plus any restricted space or tapered sections. State the units used.
  1. Bicycle and mounting area Bike model, relevant frame or rack version, and photos from several angles. Include a ruler where practical.
  1. Intended use What the product carries or protects, expected load, weather exposure and how often it will be used.
  1. Materials and components Preferred fabric, lining, foam, zippers, buckles and webbing—or ask us to recommend options.
  1. Colour and branding Colour references, logo artwork and preferred logo position. Vector artwork is useful when available.
  1. Quantity Initial order quantity, colour split and any expected repeat demand. Estimates are welcome.
  1. Target price and market Your target unit price, intended sales market and priorities if the budget requires adjustments.
  1. Timing and requirements Preferred sample date, launch deadline, packaging needs and any buyer-required testing or documentation. Tell Us What Is Fixed—and What Can Change Some details may be essential: the mounting position, available space, opening size or a particular component. Others may be flexible, such as the fabric colour, internal layout or finishing method. Mark these differences in your brief. This helps us suggest practical options without changing the features that matter most to your product. If you are working from another product as a reference, explain the changes you want rather than leaving the factory to interpret the photos. Missing Some Details? Send What You Have You can contact us before every decision is final. Label uncertain measurements and unconfirmed choices clearly. If you do not have a material preference, describe the intended use and budget so we can discuss suitable options. A useful starting message can be as simple as: We are developing a frame bag for this bicycle model. Attached are mounting photos and approximate dimensions. Our initial quantity is 300 pieces, and our target price is ____. Please suggest material options and confirm what else you need for sampling. Confirm the Plan Before the Sample Is Made We will review the information and identify any details that need clarification. Before work begins, agree on the sample specification, materials, charges and estimated timing. If substitute materials will be used, record them so both sides understand what the first sample can—and cannot—confirm. Samples typically take 7–12 days after the specification is agreed, depending on design complexity and material availability. Allow additional time for delivery and review. Ready to Share Your Project? Email your drawing or reference photos, bike model and target quantity to cocoxu@colorwaybag.com. If your brief is still incomplete, send the available information and tell us where you need help. We can work through the remaining questions before quotation and sampling.
